The Last Hercules Flight from RAF Lyneham
On the 1st July 2011 the last flight of Hercules transporters left the RAF base at Lyneham. The last flight performed a circuit around north Wiltshire as a special thanks to the people of this great county for their support over the years. No more will the drone of the Fat Alberts be heard in this little corner of England. A great shame. Wiltshire's loss is Oxfordshire's gain as the planes will be based at RAF Brize Norton in future.

The planes flew low over many of Wiltshire's towns. Here they are banking near Westbury about to begin their run to Devizes:

Approaching Devizes:

The final four over Devizes before turning over the Pewsey Vale.

Over Treasure Island.

Over the White Horse at Alton Barnes

Banking onver the Downs. The chase plane just keeping up.

Fly by of the Monument near Calne.
